“Mayo Reflection”, watercolor, 48" x 60"The Tulsa Artists’ Coalition is pleased to present “Tommy Lee Ball: Watercolors.”  The public will have the opportunity to meet the artist at the opening reception on Friday October 4, 2013 from 6pm to 9pm. This exhibit remains up through Saturday, October 26th.  The TAC Gallery is located at 9 East Brady, Tulsa. This event is free and open to the public and is part of the Brady Arts District’s First Friday Art Walk.

This series of watercolor paintings focuses on the City of Tulsa’s historical architecture. Ball explains, “While maintaining a representational nature of the structures, I exaggerate color and contrast in order to inject life into the subjects. To emphasize the scale of the structures I paint relatively large: 22” by 30” and up to 48” by 60”. Through my paintings I am able to highlight and preserve the longstanding beauty of the architecture of theses structures.”

Tommy Lee Ball received his BFA from the University of Science and Arts of Oklahoma, Chickasha, in 2007. His work has been seen various exhibits, including the Oklahoma Visual Arts Coalition’s Momentum exhibits in Tulsa and in Oklahoma Cit, the Tulsa Young Professional solo show at The Forge in Tulsa, and OVAC’s Tulsa Art Studio Tour – all in 2012.
